Name

Peter Jones - Chief Executive Officer

Peter Jones became Chief Executive Officer of Associated British Ports Holdings Limited in April 2007. He was formerly Chief Executive of the Mersey Docks & Harbour Company, having worked in ports and shipping businesses in the UK and Europe since 1977. Mr Jones has recently been appointed a non-executive director of SKIL Ports & Logistics Ltd, an AIM-listed company involved in the development of a small port in India, at Karanja in close proximity to Mumbai. He has previously served as a non-executive director of Through Transport Mutual Insurance and of the United Kingdom Major Ports Group. He has also been a member of the Bank of England's North-West Quarterly Panel.

January 2008 - Nick Ridehalgh (45 - 2011), has been appointed as director for all of ABP's short sea ports. Mr Ridehalgh (45 - 2011) joined Associated British Ports as a management trainee in 1991. He spent time as port manager at Lynn from 2002 to 2004. After West Norfolk he went to Barrow in north west England and in his new role is reponsible for a total of 11 operations as far apart as Ipswich and Lowestoft to Ayr and Troon, including King's Lynn.












Alastair MacFarlane, ABP Port Manager, East Anglia

Alastair MacFarlane, is the Port Manager for East Anglia and has been with ABP since July 1991. (age 48 2011)

Mr MacFarlane has held a number of management positions within the company, including that of Port Superintendent, Port of Plymouth from 1994 to 1996, Port Manager at Ayr and Troon from 2002-1991, Port Manager Lowestoft, Whilst at Lowestoft he had a long-established reputation as a centre for the offshore energy industry, and the port's central role in the operation of the Greater Gabbard windfarm will only act to enhance this reputation.". Prior to joining ABP Mr MacFarlane worked as a Deck Officer in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service.

Mr MacFarlane is a member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. He is married with two children and holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Transport Management and Planning from Loughborough University of Technology.

Associated British Ports (ABP) has announced the appointment of Roger Arundale as Deputy Port Manager, East Anglia, and Graham Tetley as Assistant Port Manager, East Anglia.

Mr Arundale, (53 - 2011), joined the Company in 1974, and, before taking up his new post, spent six years as Assistant Port Manager and Personnel Manager at the Port of Grimsby & Immingham, the UK's largest port by tonnage. He has previous experience of working in ABP's East Anglian ports, having worked at the Port of Lowestoft between 1988 and 1990.

Mr Arundale holds a degree in Business Studies, and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport. He is also a keen wildlife enthusiast, and has been heavily involved with many of ABP's Sustainable Development projects. In his time at Grimsby & Immingham, he led the port's efforts to obtain the groundbreaking harbour revision order needed for its Immingham Outer Harbour development, building strong relationships with organisations such as Natural England, RSPB and the Environment Agency, as well as local councils and wildlife trusts.

Mr Tetley, 46, joined ABP in 1978, and has considerable experience of the workings of a port, having been Operations Manager at Immingham since 2006. Prior to this, he spent 15 years in other operational, supervisory and management roles. As Assistant Port Manager, he will report directly to ABP's Port Manager in East Anglia, Alastair MacFarlane, but will have special responsibility for the Port of King's Lynn, where he will be based.

Mr Tetley is currently studying for a Chartered Management Institute Diploma in Management. In his spare time, he enjoys jogging, cycling and playing five-a-side football. He takes up his new post on Monday 28 April 2008.
